How do I start listening to music?
From the Tuner page, you can see all the stations available on Jelli. Each station has a catalog of tracks and it’s up the community to decide what plays.

Click on a station to see what’s currently playing and what artists or bands have recently played. This will give you a feel for what the community on that station is listening to. You can also see how active the station is by looking at the “radioactivity” meter. This is an indicator of how many people are currently online on that station.

Click “Tune in” to go to a station’s page, then click “Listen” to hear what’s playing live. You can also start voting and chatting with other listeners to decide what plays next.

You can change stations at any time by clicking on the “Change Station” link in the Now Playing area from a station’s home page. Or click the “Tuner” link at the top of a page to go back to the Tuner and see what’s happening on all Jelli stations.

What is the “Now Playing” area?
The Now Playing area displays what’s currently playing on a Jelli station. To tune in, click the “Listen” button.

As you listen to Jelli, you can register your opinion about what’s playing by clicking the “Rocks” and “Sucks” buttons. The Jelli rockometer shows what the rest of the listeners think about the current track. If you like what you’re hearing, hit “Rocks”; if not, click “Sucks”. If enough people think a track sucks, it gets pulled it off the air – immediately!

When you first tune in, you can also check out what’s been playing by clicking on the History link. You can see the last 10 plays in the History pop-up, or click “More” to see all the tracks that have played over the past 24 hours.

Below the Now Playing area you can also chat live with other Jelli listeners. It’s a great way to share your thoughts about what’s playing and discuss what should play next. You can also jump to other Jelli stations by clicking the “Change Station” button and choosing from the list of available stations.

What is the “Who’s Next” area?
The Who’s Next area is where you help vote for what will make it on the air. On Jelli, tracks make it on air based on their score which is determined by the votes and actions of the Jelli community. Tracks with the highest scores will make it on the air.

The three current, highest scoring tracks are shown at the top of the Who’s Next list, and all the other tracks are ordered by score in the list below. You can browse through the entire Jelli catalog by clicking through the pages in the Who’s Next list, then help shape the playlist by voting yes (green checkmark) or no (red X) on each track.

Based on the real-time votes of Jelli users on that station, the Who’s Next area can change rapidly as tracks move up and down in the list.

How do I vote for tracks?
Vote for a track if you want to hear it, or vote against it to try to keep it from playing. To vote for a track in the list, click the green checkmark. To vote against it, click the red ‘X’ on the track.

After you’ve voted on a track, you can remove your vote by clicking the button again, or you can change your vote by clicking on the opposite vote button. However, you cannot down vote a track which has a current score of 0. You’ll have to wait until it has a score of at least 1 to vote against it.

What are rockets and bombs and how do I use them?
Rockets and bombs, also known as power-ups, give you more power to affect a track’s score. By using a rocket or bomb strategically you can exert more control over what makes it on the air. Note there is a maximum limit of 11 rockets and 1 bomb in your account.

When you apply a rocket to a track, it sends the track to the fourth position in the Who’s Next list. When you apply a bomb to a track, it clears all the current votes and power-ups that were applied to the track, sending it back to the bottom of the Who’s Next list.

To use a rocket or bomb, hover your mouse on a track and press the “radioactive” button to open the Jelli power panel. From there, click on the “rocket” or “bomb” buttons to send a track to stardom or blow its score to smithereens.

How do I search for an artist/track/user?
To search for an artist or track, look for the search box at the top of the Jelli website. Enter the artist, track or people (Jelli users) you’re looking for and then hit the “Go” button to the right.
