How can I communicate with other Jelli users?
We currently provide two ways to communicate with other users:
- Through the live chat room on the station page
- Through the Jelli messaging system, accessed from either the messages boxor another user’s profile page
To send a Jelli message, go to a user’s profile page, and click on the “Send Message” button. You can also go to your own Jelli profile page and compose a message to any user by clicking the “New” button in the Messages box. Enter their user name in the top box, compose your message, then click Send.
There is a 500 character limit on all messages sent through the messaging system. Lucky for you, there is a counter in the right hand corner of the message sender letting you know how many more characters you can type before you reach this limit.
When reading messages you’ve received, you can also reply to any message you get from another user by clicking the “Reply” button.
You can also express yourself to other users by telling them about yourself in the About section of your profile page.

Keep an eye on the inbox envelope, located right by your user name at the top of any Jelli page. When the envelope is on fire, that means you have new messages waiting. The icon will also display the number of unread messages waiting in your inbox.
We will also send an email to the address on your Jelli account to let you know a new Jelli message has arrived. You can opt out of receiving email notifications on your Jelli settings page (under Preferences).
