What does it mean when I connect my Facebook account with Jelli?
When you come to Jelli for the first time, you have the option to sign in using your Facebook account or to create a Jelli account. When you sign in with your Facebook account, we will create a user name for you using the first name and first letter of your last name on your Facebook account (e.g. Sarah B). That user name is what will be displayed when you are in chat, when you rocket a track on the air, and when other users visit your profile.

If you’re already a Jelli user, you can also connect your Facebook account. See instructions below.

Once you’re connected to Jelli with your Facebook account, you can automatically share your Jelli activity with your Facebook friends:

  • What you’re listening to on Jelli (artist, track title, Jelli station)
  • When you apply a rocket to a track
  • When you apply a bomb to a track
  • When your rocketed track gets on the air

Sharing this activity is optional. If you would rather not share this information, go to your Jelli account settings page and uncheck the box next to “Share my Jelli activity with my Facebook friends”; then click the Save button. You will remain connected to Facebook but your activity will not be automatically shared with your friends.

When you share your listening activity on Jelli with your Facebook friends, you’ll also receive a bonus rocket and bomb every day that you log in to Jelli. So rather than the usual 3 rockets and 1 bomb daily reward, you’ll receive 4 rockets and 2 bombs. Note that there is still a maximum limit of 11 rockets and 5 bombs per user, so if you are at those limits when you log in, you will not receive any additional power-ups.

How do I connect my Jelli account to Facebook?
This depends on how you are currently using Jelli:

If you already have a Jelli account, but are not yet connected to Facebook:
Sign in to Jelli and then visit your Jelli settings page. Once there, click on the Facebook Connect tab. Then click the “Connect with Facebook” button. You’ll be asked to sign in to Facebook and then accept some permissions. Going forward, you can then sign into Jelli using either your username and password, or your Facebook credentials.

I do not yet have a Jelli account.
Visit the Jelli homepage and click the “I Want In” button. On the window that pops up click the “Sign In With Facebook” button. You’ll be asked to sign in to Facebook and then accept some permissions. Going forward, you can then sign into Jelli using your Facebook credentials.

Do I earn extra powerups for connecting my Jelli account to Facebook?
Yes! When you connect your Jelli account to Facebook and agree to share your activity with your Facebook friends, we will automatically give you an extra rocket for every day that you log in to Jelli. So rather than the usual 3 rockets daily reward, you’ll receive 4 rockets. Note that there is still a maximum limit of 11 rockets per user, so if you are at those limits when you log in, you will not receive any additional power-ups.

If your Jelli account is connected to Facebook and you want to ensure you’re eligible to receive the extra rocket every day, check your settings. Go to your Jelli account settings page and be sure the box next to “Share my Jelli activity with my Facebook friends” is checked; then click the Save button. To receive the bonus power-ups every day, you must be opted in to this setting.

I don’t want to use my real name on Jelli. Can I choose a different username when I sign in with Facebook?
When you sign in with your Facebook account, we will create a username for you using the first name and first letter of your last name on your Facebook account (e.g. Sarah B).

But this can be changed. You can create an alternate username on Jelli after you’ve connected your Facebook account.

After signing in to Jelli with your Facebook account, go to your Jelli account settings page. There you’ll see a field where you can enter and preview a user name for your account. Note that once you do this, the username cannot be changed and will become the name that is displayed for you on Jelli in chat, when your rockets gets on air, and on your profile. All usernames are subject to approval so keep it clean!

When I am logged into Jelli with my Facebook account, what information or activity am I sharing with friends?
Once you’re connected to Jelli with your Facebook account, you can share what you’re listening to on Jelli (artist, track title, Jelli station).

Sharing your listening activity is optional. If you would rather not share this information, go to your Jelli account settings page and uncheck the box next to “Share my Jelli activity with my Facebook friends”; then click the Save button. You will remain connected to Facebook but your activity will not be automatically shared with your friends.

We also offer Facebook connected users the option to publish certain Jelli activities to their Facebook wall. When you are signed into Jelli with your Facebook account, you will be prompted to publish to your wall after these events:

  • When you apply a rocket to a track
  • When you apply a bomb to a track
  • When your rocketed track gets on the air

By default, you will be prompted to publish to your wall each time these events occur on Jelli. However if you are comfortable with those events being automatically published to your wall, you can turn off the prompting. Go to your Jelli account settings page and click the “Facebook Connect” tab. Then uncheck the boxes under “Ask to post to my stream when:” and click the Save button. Going forward, you will no longer be prompted to publish to your wall when you rocket, bomb or your rocket gets on air; it will happen automatically in the background.

Can I choose not to share my Jelli activity with my Facebook friends?
Sharing your Jelli activity with your Facebook friends is optional. But note that if you choose not to share your listening activity on Facebook, you will no longer receive the additional rocket and bomb each day that you sign in (you’ll still receive the standard 3 rockets and 1 bomb).

If you would rather not share your Jelli activity, go to your Jelli account settings page and uncheck the box next to “Share my Jelli activity with my Facebook friends”; then click the Save button. You will remain connected to Facebook but your listening activity will not be automatically shared with your friends.

If you also do not want to publish your rockets, bombs and rockets on air to your Facebook Wall, go to your Jelli account settings page and click the “Facebook Connect” tab. Then click on “Disable” next to the “Publish to my stream automatically” setting.

I no longer want my Facebook account connected with Jelli. How do I disconnect?
